On this page we will demonstrate how to configure Outlook 2016 on Windows
1.Open the start menu and write “Outlook“.
2.Select “Next“.
3.Choose “Yes” and then “Next“.
4.In this step you have to select “Manual setup or additional server types” and then “Next“.
5.Choose “POP or IMAP” and then “Next“.
6.In this step you will have to fill in all the fields that are inside the biggest red square. The “Email Address” must be the institutional email, in the “Account Type” you must choose “IMAP“, in the “Incoming mail server” field you must type “outlook.office365.com“, in the “Outgoing mail server (SMTP) “you have to type “smtp.office365.com” and finally you have to re-enter your institutional email in the “User Name” field and your password in the “Password” field.
After doing all of the above, choose “More Settings“.
7.In this step choose the option “Outgoing Server“
8.Now you will have to select “My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication” and “Use same settings as my incoming mail server“, after doing this you will have to select the option “Advanced“.
9.In this step we have to configure the “Incoming server (IMAP):” with port “993”, in “Use the following type of encrypted connection:” you have to choose the option “SSL“. The port of “Outgoing server (SMTP):” must be “587“, in “Use the following type of encrypted connection:” you must choose “TLS“. After all you have to choose “OK“.
10. Select “Next“.
11.In this step you just have to wait for it to finish connecting to the servers.
12.When complete, just choose “Close“.
